Flexjet Buys FlairJet from Marshall Aerospace, expanding Global Operations.
Flexjet Ltd, offering travellers access to the world’s most luxurious fleet of private jets, today announces the purchase of FlairJet Ltd. from Marshall of Cambridge Aerospace Limited, an operating company within Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, the United Kingdom’s largest independent aerospace and defence group. Flexjet Ltd will operate aircraft under FlairJet Ltd’s Civil Aviation Authority Air Operator’s Certificate in Europe and will be part of Flexjet’s growing global fleet and programmes.
“Our purchase of FlairJet enables us to operate a European-based fleet of aircraft within our system and consistent with Flexjet’s impeccable service and quality standards, ” said Kenn Ricci, Flexjet’s Chairman, who made the announcement from FlairJet Ltd’s headquarters on the grounds of Birmingham Airport.
Increasingly, Flexjet’s North American Owners are using Flexjet’s growing fleet of long-range, large-cabin aircraft such as the Bombardier Global Express, Gulfstream G450 and the forthcoming G650 and G500 for transatlantic travel. Once North American Owners make their crossing in one of Flexjet’s aircraft they will be able to remain within the Flexjet family for consistency of service and operations while using aircraft better suited for short-haul travel within Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Flexjet Ltd’s aircraft will be made available to North American-based Flexjet Owners in need of a point-to-point private jet travel solution when travelling within the EMEA region and will be available on a charter basis to Flexjet Ltd customers based in Europe with intra-EMEA travel needs.
“These initial plans will be in effect by the end of the year,” added Raymond Jones, London-based Flexjet Ltd CEO. “We are in the process of developing additional programmes that are in step with the market demands of the EMEA region, and are carefully tailored to the unique needs of private jet travellers in this part of the world.”
Since purchasing Flexjet, we have been driving innovation in order to expand,” said Ricci. “This further validates Flexjet as a global competitor within the private aviation industry. The next natural step is to strategically continue to move into the remaining global markets.”
